Still playing with the character textures to see what I like best for Metal Heads. Reworked this fat character to a slightly different genre to see if the style was going to work. I’m thinking I’m almost there. Lucky for me the Metal Heads team now consists of 2 designer/artists, will be getting more feed back than just my own ADD brain. Probably going to to keep the team at 2 until we find a programmer we like. Trying to keep this project small and semi quite, but I figure showing some concept work wont hurt, maybe even spark some interest, so tonight I have 2 images.

I spent an hour or two tonight dicking around with a texture on a character, and found that the more I added the less I liked. I’m thinking I might model out all the character designs I have in this simple basic color texture with some detailed areas (shoes and arm tat in this case). Tomorrow I might actually open up body paint and take a different approach, but for now these flat colors feel much more fitting to my master plan. Metal Heads is the title of this small project I personally have started, while we wrap up the design doc and character rig for Stage 4.

Setting up the new site is so far less than fun. Would rather be texturing these characters I’ve been working on. But I think it’s just starting to look good. The temp logo isn’t to shabby either. Well I suppose I’ll start by dropping a character teaser image down, if I can figure out how to do that much. And I’ll end by saying 2 game projects Born of a Jackal coming your way in the future.
